Synopsis
CONSTITUENT is a hybrid poetry collection composed in verse and prose, written across several years during and after the author’s undergraduate education. The book interrogates institutional power, racialization, language, and authorship, frequently staging the poet as both subject and object—speaker and specimen. Moving between lyric poems, sonnets, fictional scenarios, and critical self-annotation, CONSTITUENT treats poetry as an act of extraction: what is taken, what is owed, and what survives.
The collection is formally restless and intentionally uneven, resisting coherence as a political and aesthetic stance. It documents a period of rupture rather than resolution
